MADRASA MATEMadrasa Mate ("the app") helps madrasas manage students, attendance, homework, namaz, Qur'an progress, exams, fees and notices, and lets parents follow their own child's progress. The app is developed and published by Mr Malayali. This page explains what data the app handles and how it is protected.
1. Data we collect
Account information – when you sign in with Google or email: your name, email address and profile photo.
Madrasa information – entered by the madrasa admin: madrasa name, place, contact phone number, logo, class fees and settings.
Student records – entered by madrasa staff, never by children themselves:
- Name, class, division, admission number, date of birth, gender, address
- Student photo (optional), added by the madrasa or by the parent
- Parent's name, phone number and email address
- Attendance, namaz records, Qur'an reviews and hifz progress
- Homework, exam marks, grades and ranks
- Fee payments and receipts
Invites – the name and WhatsApp number of a teacher or parent being invited, kept with a single-use code for up to 14 days.
Notices and homework content – text and optional images that staff post.
The app does not collect your location, contacts, call logs or SMS, and it contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.
2. How the data is used
- To run the madrasa: attendance, homework, reports, exams, fees and notices.
- To show parents their own child's progress.
- To create PDF reports, marksheets and receipts on your phone.
We never sell data and never use it for advertising.
3. Who can see the data
- Madrasa admin and teachers can see the records of their own madrasa only.
- Parents can see only the children linked to their account.
- Data of one madrasa is never visible to another madrasa.
- When you choose to share something on WhatsApp (an invite, receipt, absent alert or report), it is sent by you through WhatsApp, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
Data is stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which processes it on our behalf. Data is encrypted in transit, and access is enforced by server-side security rules based on each person's role in the madrasa. We do not share data with any other third party, except where required by law.
4. Children's privacy
The app is meant for madrasa staff and parents. Children do not create accounts or use the app themselves. Student information is entered by the madrasa, which is responsible for having the parents' permission to record it.
5. Phone permissions
- Camera / gallery – only when you choose to add a student photo, a logo or a notice poster. The photo is made small and saved with that record.
- Microphone – only when you choose to record a voice note for homework.
Files you pick (images, PDFs) are used only for the item you are creating.
6. Keeping and deleting data
Data is kept while the madrasa uses the app.
- Student records – the madrasa admin or a teacher can delete a student from the app. This also deletes that student's attendance, namaz and Qur'an records.
- Your account – to delete your account and the data linked to it, email sudheernaseer91@gmail.com from the email you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my account". We will delete it within 30 days and confirm by email.
- A whole madrasa – the madrasa admin can ask for the madrasa and all its records to be deleted in the same way.
7. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
